St Andrews & Fife
|
The small peninsula of Fife boasts over 45 famous, historic and challenging golf courses, including where it all started, the Old Course at St. Andrews. This 600-year-old golf course still challenges today and has hosted The Open Championship more times than any other venue. All the greats have won at St. Andrews; Nicklaus, Woods, Palmer, etc. Any person who loves the game owes it to themselves to walk this sacred ground.
As well as the Old Course, there are other courses at St Andrews that are worthy of being considered amongst the best in Scotland, including New, Jubilee & Castle courses. In addition to the courses of St Andrews, the region has other magnificent courses such as multiple British Open host Carnoustie, Dumbarnie, beautiful Elie, Lundin Links, Crail (Balcomie and Craighead), and relative newcomer and world top 100, Kingsbarns. The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship takes place over three venues - Kingsbarns, the Old Course at St Andrews and Carnoustie - every October. |
