France

At first glance, one might not think of France as a bonafide golf destination, but with its varied landscapes and topography and over 550 courses, France provides a huge range of options for great golf.
It may be hard to tear yourself away from all that Paris has to offer, but you’ll be rewarded handsomely if you do. Similar to the heathland courses to the west of London, the courses of Morfontaine, Fontainbleau, St. Germain, and Chantilly are all classically beautiful and a joy to play. The Bordeaux region is a wine lover's delight and we encourage all golfers to tour some of the local vineyards, but the golf is more than worthwhile in Bordeaux as well. Most courses enjoy a pastoral setting uncluttered by over-development, including the recently renamed Cabot Bordeaux (previously Club de Golf Médoc, designed by Canadian Rod Whitman). For those that fancy the jet-set lifestyle, the French Riviera has it all with the city of Monaco and beautiful beaches. There are plenty of good courses in the area as well, such as Terre Blanche and Royal Mougins. |
