February 2020 Newsletter

There really is a light at the end of the tunnel (and it's not a train!!)
It doesn't seem like it at all but the days are getting longer and we are slowly making our way to the end of winter - trust us!!
So how do we make that last push to the warmer months?
Well, in this edition to our newsletter we are highlighting some of the fantastic new stuff TJ and Matt saw while at the PGA Show in Orlando (a sure sign spring is on the way), looking at some great Valentine's Day gift ideas for that special golfer in your life and, as it is time for the Scotties Canadian Women's Curling Championship, we will take a look back at the 2019 edition of the Sweep and Swing Tour that happened last October (and is coming again in 2021). On top of that our hole of the month will look at the famous 5th hole at Casa De Campo, a beautiful Dominican resort that quite a few Golf Away clients have been visiting this year and you may want to consider adding to your winter survival plans in 2021 (or even last second for this year).
By the way, Golf Away Tours will be at the 2020 Toronto Star Golf and Travel Show that runs February 7-9 at the International Centre in Mississauga so pop by and say hello to the team if you can make it out - it's another sure sign of spring and way to get through a cold winter weekend in Toronto!
Enjoy and as always if you have any suggestions or questions, please let us know!

Golf Away Tours at the 2020 PGA Merchandise ShowIn January TJ and Matt took a bullet for all of us and left Toronto to venture down to Florida and attend the annual PGA Merchandising Show. Between all the golfing and fine dining (and a small case of food poisoning from all the fine dining that TJ survived), they even did some work! |

Hole of the Month: 5th Hole, Teeth of the Dog
Welcome to the February hole of the month.
We will be looking at another dream destination in the south this month as we go to Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic. Specifically, the 5th hole at Teeth of the Dog, probably the most dramatic hole at arguably the most scenic course in all of the Caribbean.
A long time favourite of Canadians, this winter get away is a must visit for all golf lovers and a perfect vacation destination to re-charge the batteries during a long Canadian winter.
Enjoy and let us know your thoughts on any holes you would like to see in the future!
