Alright, another full disclosure of a place I haven’t had the chance to visit yet but I'm really looking forward to visiting in the near future. I have golfed on Vancouver Island up in the Campbell River area (Storey Creek is an amazing golf course if you get the chance to be up in that area), but never in the Victoria area.
Victoria is well known as the most temperate climate in Canada and, as a result, golf is actually played there 12 months a year. Admittedly, the golf is MUCH more pleasant in that part of the world from mid-April through mid-November but you really can golf pretty much every day of the year in this pacific coast area.
The crown jewel public golf destination in the Victoria area is definitely Bear Mountain. With 2 courses ranked in the Score Golf Top 59 Public Course in Canada, 2 on site hotels to choose from, spa and dining options, plus wonderful indoor and outdoor recreational facilities, this is a destination definitely worth the trip any time of the year. |
As with Whistler, I will be sure to give more details on the resort when I get the opportunity to enjoy it in person – hopefully in the near future!!! In the meantime if a spring, or other time of year, getaway in Canada is something that is interesting to you, let us know and we will be happy to build the best package for you.
