Follow the transformation of TJ's backyard as he gets his new short game installed by AGL Grass. As you'll see, it not only looks great but it was was also a turnkey process that anyone can easily arrange for their backyard
My 3 year old son Julian is addicted to golf, which warms my heart. It makes me dream of someday going on a golf trip with him. All he wants to do is play golf, so we spend a day or two a week in the summer at the driving range at Scarboro G&CC letting him whack the ball around. The thing that impresses me the most is that he loves putting as much as hitting balls. |
Combine my son’s (and my) love of the game, and the fact that I can’t grow grass in my backyard – not only due to my lack of a green finger, but also three large maple trees on the south lot line – and it was a no brainer to decide to build an artificial putting green in the backyard.
But where to start? I was put on to a company called AGL Grass from my good friend Mark Zecchino of Golf Talk Canada. Mark had his backyard green renovated by AGL and raved about their work. Needless to say, it was a great recommendation. AGL was very professional to deal with from start to finish. They have been very busy the past couple of years, but were able to still get my green done this year, working well into December. |
The install took all of 2 days and the quality of the work is impressive. We have been shovelling the snow off all winter – well, until this last snow, may need Mother Nature’s help this time – and chipping and putting regularly, even in the winter. I can’t wait to use the green daily come spring time. I know that’s where I’ll find Julian! |
We took a time-lapse video of the install, I hope you enjoy!
