Why? The courses are opening bookings or waiting lists so much further in advance.
We sent out a notification in March telling you how conversations with our partners in Ireland, informed us that some courses, notably Royal Portrush and Lahinch, have started accepting bookings for the 2024 golf season. Since then we have learned that Royal Portrush has so many pre-bookings that September 2024 is close to full (remember, the 2025 Open Championship is there and there is huge interest in the course)
- At the PGA show, TJ spoke with many suppliers from Ireland and got the same message - booking are opening earlier than ever, get planning now!
- In Scotland, almost all suppliers told Ron that they were either open for 2024 bookings now or would be open for 2024 bookings no later than April 2023.
St Andrews is a bit of an exception. Guaranteed tee times on the Old Course are either won in the lottery (held in August) or there are a limited number of tee times can be purchased at a SIGNIFICANT premium. Those tee times are 100% sold out in 2023 and 2024 many of the partners we use already have waiting lists for tee times that have not even been allocated yet. If The Old Course is on your bucket list, 2024 is already looking difficult but get to us immediately and we will do our best to help you out.
2023 is pretty full across in many major destinations. WE are still finding spots for larger groups in North West Ireland, Portugal and Spain but some of the "usual" destinations in Scotland and Ireland, and even Cabot and a few destination like Bandon Dunes in the US, are all but impossible for any group larger than 2, maybe 4, and you need a huge amount of flexibility in the dates and courses you want to play to get anything.

2024 is shaping up to be even busier as pent up demand for golf travel, and a whole lot of new golfers who took up the game, is leading to a surge in interest and bookings.
It's repetitive but 1 last time - start planning early to avoid disappointment and get your perfect golf trip planned for you and your group.
