The Caribbean Sea swims adjacent to seven holes at Teeth of the Dog, the iconic centrepiece of the luxurious golf retreat, an hour's drive west of Punta Cana and an hour and a half east of the capital city of Santo Domingo. Dye's 7,471-yard masterpiece, which will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2021, is surprisingly forgiving off the tee until golfers face off with the sea.

The tee shots on the first few holes aren’t tremendously difficult unless one plays particularly poor shots. Upon reaching the 5th hole that changes.

| It is Teeth of the Dog’s iconic hole, due to its degree of difficulty and unbeatable views. On the par-3 5th there’s no bail-out. Nowhere to miss. It’s either on the green or in the bunker surrounding it and anything worse is watery Caribbean grave. This hole is reason enough to take a trip to the Dominican. Get your yardage, choose the right stick, make a confident swing and then reach into the bag to get your 3 off the tee ball!!!
