Just over a year from now, Golf Away Tours, along with our celebrity hosts, will be enjoying an amazing adventure as we visit Carnoustie and St Andrews for an tour that all who join will remember forever.
Golfers, non golfers, curlers and non curlers will all tour together as we enjoy 9 days of fun and adventure - no experience needed (except proven experience at having a great time!).
Golfers, non golfers, curlers and non curlers will all tour together as we enjoy 9 days of fun and adventure - no experience needed (except proven experience at having a great time!).
If past Sweep and Swings are any indication, this will be an amazing trip that combines fun competition in 2 of our favourite sports, plus the camaraderie and fun of not only our 4 amazing hosts, but also your fellow, like-minded travel companions.
Traditionally, the post sport / evening socializing is a highlight for all our participants, creating many of the most lasting memories (think an impromptu pint at the Jigger Inn on a sunny afternoon, directly beside the 17th hole at St Andrews as one example!) with the golf and curling providing experiences that will create lifelong memories for lovers of each sport. |
So what can you expect on this amazing trip?
Hotels:
We are staying at 2 of the most iconic hotels in the world of golf - The Carnoustie Golf Hotel and the Rusacks Hotel. Everyone who has watched an Open Championship (or the Dunhill Cup for that matter) has seen these hotels and may not even realize it.
The Carnoustie Golf Hotel is directly behind the 18th green at Carnoustie:
The Rusacks is right beside the 18th hole of the Old Course and is newly renovated to make an already memorable stay even better.
2 great hotels in 2 iconic locations - who could ask for more?
Curling:
For those who are curling (we do have a package price for non-curlers if requested), you are in for a great experience! An international bonspiel - there was even a team from Poland at the 2019 spiel - with some of the most decorated curlers in the world skipping your team - what could be better? Well, layer on great food, great drinks, a bit of indoor lawn bowling and a traditional curlers court and you have a curling experience like none other.
Golf:
Who would not love the opportunity to play as many as 6 rounds of links golf in 2 of the most well known golf towns in the world (well, some of you may not, which is why we have a non-golfer package as well so you can join in all all the rest of the fun if you don't want to golf)?
3 rounds at Carnoustie including 1 round on the famous Carnoustie Championship Course, site of eight Open Championships, two Women’s Opens and two Seniors Opens.
3 rounds in St Andrews and area on both the New and Jubilee Course at St Andrews plus a round at Kingsbarns Golf Links, host of the 2017 Women's Open championship and annually one of 3 courses that host the Alfred Dunhill Championship (along with Carnoustie and the Old Course).
The Extras:
Like we mentioned, on ice and on grass is only part of the fun on this tour. Between sports, there is no shortage of planned activity (tours, dinners, receptions), as well as a lot of free time for you to explore on you own. We make sure that every minute is not scheduled on the trip to give you the free time for personal exploration but interestingly, we find that the whole group tends to stick together most of the time because they are just having such a good time together!
Reception at New Club:

We can try to describe the trip as best as we can but the experience will always outweigh anything we can write. We did ask Glenn, as our returning host, to chat a bit about some of his memories, and what he expects from the next trip, and you can find that video by clicking here.
We also know we can't answer all you questions in this article so we did put together a quick FAQ you can find by clicking on the button below. Also, give us a call with ANY questions you have, we love talking golf and talking about this trip!
We have several people signed up from our initial announcement in July, and we do have somewhat limited space due to available team spots for the curling, so take click on the button below for a full itinerary and get yourself signed up to join in on the fun!
We hope you can join us and by the way, if you are a non-golfer, non-curler, or both, we have package pricing for you as well so just reach out and we will be happy to discuss options with you.
See you in Scotland next year!!
