The Metropolitan Golf Club
Opened: 1901
Designer: J B Mackenzie
Par: 72
Length: 7,211 yards
The legendary Walter Hagen once described the Metropolitan Golf Club as the finest in Australia. It has been described by some as having some of the nicest fairways and greens in the southern hemisphere. Beautiful blue skies and lush vegetation provides the illusion that you are not in fact a twenty minute drive from the central business district of Melbourne. As a celebration form its 100th year in existence, the club hosted the World Golf Championship, Match Play Championship, which was eventually won by Steve Stricker.
