Harry Shapland (H.S.) Colt, arguably golf’s greatest architect (responsible for Muirfield, Pine Valley, Hamilton, Royal County Down, and more), laid out the front nine Pyle and Kenfig, locally known as “P&F”. The site is spectacular, located directly in the dunes adjacent to the sea with long views of the Welsh Mountains. The back nine makes particular use of the dunes, dancing in between (and occasionally over) to create one of the most memorable rounds of golf in the country.
