Conveniently located directly on the hillside above Kelowna International Airport (YLW), Okanagan Golf Club’s Quail course is the far more dramatic of the two, really prioritizing the mountain golf experience. Large elevation drops are prevalent, but beware: thick forest awaits those who get too far offline from elevated tees playing to skinny fairways below. As with other Les Furber designs, the greens are undulating and difficult, but his bunkering style compliments the mountain backdrops akin to Stanley Thompson’s philosophy of matching bunker edges to the mountain peaks in the distance.
