Kilmarnock Barassie
Opened: 1887
Designer: Unknown
Par:72
Length: 6,817 yards
Kilmarnock (Barassie) Golf Club was founded in 1887, originally as an 18-hole layout and recently extended to 27-holes. These new holes, and nine from the original layout, now form the Barassie course, which is used for Open Championship Final Qualifying.
The Barassie is a very solid test, measuring in at 6,817 yards from the medal tees against a par of 72. The classic links course has great conditioning, humps, hollows, undulations, blind shots, lightning fast greens and, above all, a great atmosphere.
