Opened
1999
Designer
Neil Coles & Angel Gallardo
Events
Spanish Open (multiple), DP World Tour events
Rankings
4th best golf course in Spain, top100golfcourse.com

Originally opened as the PGA Catalunya Resort's Stadium Course in 1999, Camiral's flagship layout has hosted the Spanish Open multiple times and is consistently ranked as one of continental Europe's finest courses. Designed by Neil Coles and Angel Gallardo, the routing meanders through dense Catalan pine forest, cresting and falling through dramatic elevation changes β€” most famously at the par-3 13th, often cited among the toughest tournament holes on the DP World Tour. Combined with the on-site Hotel Camiral and the adjacent Tour Course, this is one of Europe's most complete inland golf destinations.

Camiral β€” Tour Course

Location
Caldes de Malavella, Girona, Spain
Opened
2005
Designer
Neil Coles & Angel Gallardo
Rankings
23rd best golf course in Spain, top100golfcourse.com

Camiral's Tour Course, opened in 2005 alongside the better-known Stadium, plays through the same pine-clad rolling terrain but with a friendlier risk-reward style β€” wider fairways, fewer forced carries, and bigger landing zones make it an enjoyable companion round even after a stern day on the championship layout. Designed by Neil Coles and Angel Gallardo with the same Catalan attention to natural contours and shot variety, it's an outstanding second course in its own right, and frequently used as warm-up for the Spanish Open and other DP World Tour events held next door.

Opened
2003 (current location)
Designer
Greg Norman
Events
Spanish Open (16 times), AndalucΓa Masters, Catalunya Championship
Rankings
8th best golf course in Spain, top100golfcourse.com

Founded in 1912, Real Club de Golf El Prat is one of Spain's oldest and most decorated clubs β€” host of the Spanish Open more than any other venue (16 times) and a regular fixture on the DP World Tour. After being displaced by Barcelona airport expansion in 2003, the club moved to its current home in Terrassa, where Greg Norman laid out 45 holes across three nine-hole loops (Pink, Yellow, and Blue) through gently rolling Mediterranean countryside. The current 18-hole tournament composite (Pink + Yellow) remains a stiff championship test, with hosting credits including the Open de EspaΓ±a, AndalucΓa Masters, and Catalunya Championship.
