Circolo del Golf Roma Olgiata is one of Rome's great members' clubs — a Ken Cotton design opened in 1961 and set on the historic Chigi-Odescalchi estate just north of the city. Circolo del Golf Roma Acquasanta is the oldest golf club in Italy — founded in 1903 in a corner of Rome so remarkable that the Aqueduct of Claudius still crosses the property. The layout weaves between the ruins of the ancient Roman aqueducts, umbrella pines, and stone walls, with the Alban Hills rising on the horizon — the closest golf course to central Rome and a genuinely storied venue that has hosted the Italian Open more times than any other club in the country.

Golf Nazionale, the home course of the Italian Golf Federation, is a Robert Trent Jones Jr. design that opened in 2011 in Sutri, an hour north of Rome. Wide, generously mounded fairways, cascading bentgrass greens, and clever routing through olive groves and mature oaks have made it one of Italy's most respected championship venues, and it hosted the DP World Tour's Italian Open in 2016, 2017, and 2018 in the run-up to the 2023 Ryder Cup — a proving ground for tour-level golf in the region.

Marco Simone Golf & Country Club made global headlines as the host of the 2023 Ryder Cup — the first time the biennial matches were played in Continental Europe outside Spain since 1997. The original 1989 Jim Fazio design was extensively remodelled by European Golf Design (Tom Fazio II, Dave Sampson) in the run-up to the matches, with new tees, championship-standard bentgrass surfaces, and stadium-style mounding around the finishing holes. Set at the foot of the medieval Marco Simone castle, with sweeping views back toward the Rome skyline, it is now a permanent Ryder Cup legacy venue and the most talked-about championship course in Italy.
