Casa de Campo offered me the opportunity to stay and play at the resort so after my amazing stay at the Iberostar, I transferred up to La Romano for a couple of nights at the resort, a definite favourite of many of our clients. I now have firsthand experience as to why it's so popular – it is amazing and like no resort I have ever ben to before.
 
We have highlighted this resort before so I will not go into a lot of detail (the links to our past articles are below) but I wanted to highlight a couple of impressions I had.

​I’ve been to Punta Cana many times but I have never had the chance to stay at the Iberostar, nor play some of the great golf in the area. That changed a couple of weeks ago with a generous invite from Karel Gomez, Director of Sales Americas - Golf & Sports for Iberostar.

​I get asked the question a lot, “what’s next on your bucket list?”  There are so many great golf destinations around the world, and some may not come to mind as quickly as others.  That’s the case with South Africa, which was at the top of my bucket list 5 years ago when I had the opportunity to lead a group to this unique country. 
 
I had heard tons about the experiences in South Africa from colleagues in the industry, clearly a destination that was unlike any other when it comes to a golf experience.  But obviously it’s not just about the golf…far from it.

Situated in the most southern part of the African continent, South Africa is perhaps the most diverse country in Africa. It has it all, quality Big 5 safaris, golden beaches, world class cities and an outdoor lifestyle not easily comparable with any other country in the world! For years South Africa might have been in the news for somewhat negative reasons, but given its history and what it has become, this is definitely a destination not to miss.
 
Cape Town is but one of the many cities voted the “most preferred destination” and “friendliest cities” in the world. It has beautiful mountains, unspoiled beaches, fine wines and world-class restaurants. One can experience the city life in Cape Town, forests and lakes in the garden route, taste the best wines on offer in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek and top it off with a world class safari in the Kruger National Park.
